Lecirelin is a synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analog. Lecirelin is widely used in the study of bovine ovarian follicular cysts. Like natural somatostatin, Ranaridin is a peptide inhibitor of many endocrine, neuroendocrine, exocrine and paracrine functions. It has good affinity for peripheral somatostatin receptors (pituitary and pancreatic), but weak affinity for central receptors. This feature makes it have a good specific effect on growth hormone secretion and digestive tract hormone secretion. Ranaridin is more active than natural somatostatin, and its action time is longer. Its inhibitory effect on growth hormone secretion is more selective than that on insulin secretion, which makes it suitable for the treatment of acromegaly.
